Welcome to my 1977 Suzuki GS 750 Project page
This page will show how I take a Suzuki GS 750 and bring
it back to life.
In doing my research I found hundreds of pages on the Honda
CB 750 and equal pages on the Yamaha XS 650 but nothing on the GS 750 other than pictures .
So here it is
My goal in this project is not to build the " Coolest Bike
" out there
but to put a old retired motorcycle back on the road making
it as nice as possible for as little money as possible.
I found the bike for free so already I am starting off in
the green
This bike has 14,000 miles on and seems to of been pretty
well taken of , I got the bike from a friend , even though it was old dirty , and showing signs of rust my friend assured
me it ran when he parked it a few summers ago.
The bike had been stored in the garage and also spent some
time outside under a tarp so it had some wear tear on it in need of TLC.
It didn't take much at all to get the motor to fire up ,
all I had to do was rebuild the carbs and clean out the points.
So at this point I have a 99% complete bike that runs quite
well.
first things first , I get the saw out and start cutting
!
CHOPPER/BOBBER ? I am not sure what I will end up with the general plan is to have a solo bike ,
and put some life back into this 750

Still in the works got side tracked
on a couple other GS750's and needed time to ride not build this summer , started a sidecar for the rigid have the motor broke
down doing some head work , the frame is complete , sand blasted ready to be primed and built for a run , hoping to get it
all together this winter in primer work all the bugs out and rip it a part next summer to paint .

The sidecar is a webpage in itself but to
sum up what I've used and done so far .
I build the body out of 12mm 9ply oak marine
ply-wood and fiber glassed it completely it will craddle on a steel tube frame .
****UPDATE 10-28-2006****
I have not done much building on the rigid 750 this summer , I finished
up the frame and all the big weld/bends and ended up back at the drawing table with a change of mind for the front end, I
have the stock 1977 GS front end with the 19 inch spoke wheel , my plan was to use that, but I now have a complete front end
off a GSXR 1100 -2003 , dual disc the works , and with this front end I can use the smaller 17 inch alloy wheel with a fat
front tire to match the rear,
I also picked up a 1981 Suzuki GS750E and restored it this summer that
kept me busy , the 81 came out sweet , has 11k miles on it runs like a champ , I made my own header and put a Yoshi SR-3 pipe
on it . painted the helmet to match ,, came out nice,, I do want to change the seat ,, the seat on it now was a quick recover
so I could get in a ride or three before the Ohio winter.
