Rear Wheel

The rear wheel as I mentioned in "tire info" came from a 1999 ZX11 17x4.5

Metzler Marathon ME 880 SPECS.

160/70-17  RIM WID: 4.50 - 5.00

"OVERALL" DIA: 25.63   WID: 6.33

The DIA & WIDTH might vary depending on the width of the rim used.

My intent was to have the 17" wheel mounted with the same overall DIA as the OEM 18" wheel.

The tire I used did that , I could of went wider to a 180 , 190 and pry squeezed a 200 tire on this rim , but wider isn't always better in this case with no suspension there needs to be some side wall to obsorb the ride , the wider 180,190&200 tires are so low profile one good pot hole would pry bend this alloy rim.

** UPDATE 1/21/2006 **

Seat Spring set up I am working on ,

single 750LBS coil over shock for the seat spring approx 2 inch round coil X 7.25 inch long shock.

I might put a non spring tight rigid type seat on the frame , but I also had the thought of putting a old school spring bobber type seat on this bike , I pre built the single spring mount and put that it on  for now , it  leaves me the option to use either of the 2 different seats once the bike is complete with out going back in and welding the mounts for the spring ..If I use the spring seat I do not want to use the typical 2" chrome springs on a old school Triumph looking seat , The single design is nice and hidden , I copied this single coil over shock/spring for the seat from a Exile single spring set up , except I used about $5.00USD in steel and a $25.00USD 750LBS RockShock spring rather than a , Exile designed Mount and a $429USD 350LBS Exile shock ,

The RockShock came off a Canandale Mountain Bike $25USD Ebay, and a complete rebuild kit is sold for it if needed at just about any Bicycle shop for $14.99USD,(SEAL/ O-RING) at any auto store for around $3USD. Not sure if I will end up with this as my final seat but like I said it leaves me the option and I build so I'll tell you how.

Soon coming more pictures of the seat and how I will fabricate the hinge.
